The scriber base cover is 0.5mm white plastic fixed onto the scriber with 3m double sided sticky tape. Useful when the aluminium base is likely to mark the surface on finished painted surfaces or tiles.

For a good fix to the scriber base degrease the aluminium and use a cramp or the bench vice for added pressure.
