Centre Finder

The centre finder bolts onto the wide end of the deluxe bearing fence.

There are 4 bearings provided which can be set in the outer position for stock upto 2″ wide or the inner position for stock upto 1″ wide.

Spacers are provided to alter the distance between the bearings depending on the thickness of the work peice.

The plate is 10mm delrin.

In use the centre finder can be set accurately to mark the centre of the work peice but by turning the centre finder 180 degrees and marking 2 lines as long as you are only slightly out of alignment and the lines are close together you can judge where the centre is between the lines very accuarately.

The centre finder can be used as a wide bearing fence, and when  bolted on upside down it becomes a longer straight fence.

When using the centre finder on the deluxe bearing fence because there is some clearance in the holes for the fixing bolts you need to make sure the scriber is bolted centrally to the plate.

Because the centre finder uses the same hardware as the deluxe bearing fence (and you need the deluxe bearing fence to use the centre finder) you have the option of buying the centre finder with just the bolts needed to fix it to the plate of the bearing fence.

You then use the bearings and spacers etc from the centre finder.

When using the centre finder rather than trying to get the pencil exactly centre to the work piece as long as you are fairly close to centre you can mark a line from both edges creating a tramline which you can split accurately by eye.
