Marking Gauge Block Overview

Overview of the Marking Gauge Block

The Marking Gauge block is a versatile aluminium marking tool which has 5 functions.

It can be used as a marking/panel gauge running on a straight or curved edge.

A height gauge for marking vertical surfaces.

A depth gauge (for measuring the depth of a hole for example).

The pivoting part of a beam compass allowing you to make a compass to your own requirements.

A transfer tool (for quickly drawing a line parallel to an edge).

The block can be used in a number of configurations using wooden or aluminium arms/beams or a combination of both.

It uses threaded m4 steel barrel nuts to secure all the attachments. These nuts and all the bolts used are easily replaceable when the threads eventually wear.

There are 2 slots in the block. The top slot measures 20mm wide by 20mm deep. The bottom slot measure 1″ wide by 3/8″ deep.

The 20mm slot is for wooden beams wheareas the 1″ slot is mainly for the 1″ aluminium beam available on the shop page but it can be used for wooden beams as well.
