Beam Compass Block

The beam compass block combined with a tooley park scriber enables you to make a compass any size you need.

Because the block holds the beam upright it’s very easy to accurately adjust the scriber to place the pencil on a mark.

You can pivot the block on a scribe placed in an indention or screw the block onto the work peice.

Apart from the 2 in 1 FB Scriber all the other scribers (which all have c/s holes in the base) can be used to make the beam compass.

If you think this is a tool which will get frequent use it’s worth spending time to make up beams with holes in for the m6 c/s bolt but for a quicker solution you can screw the block directly onto the block.

The block is aluminium, the hardware is stainless steel apart from the scribe.

You have the choice of purchasing the block with or without hardware.

The scribe is purchased seperately on the shop page.

The nominal size for the block is 70mm x 50mm x 31mm

The scriber is screwed to the end grain of the beam using the countersunk holes in the scriber base.

Use the adjustment on the scriber to place the pencil on the pre-marked circle diameter line.

You can use a marking wheel holder to score the arc of a circle (here the scriber is fitted with a chair makers marking holder).
