The chair makers marking wheel is designed to score a line around the legs of furniture to give a definite reference point to cut to for levelling. This is a very accurate way of marking legs and guarantees that your piece of furniture won’t rock.
Legs with up to a 60 degree angle can be marked with this tool.
It can also be used for site installations instead of using a pencil giving a definite incised line to work to. This is more accurate than working to a pencil line and has the added bonus of preventing tear out whilst jigsawing.
To tighten the hinge you need an allen key (provided) and a 7mm ring spanner.
A Veritas marking wheel is used (one wheel is supplied with the holder) which can be replaced when worn out or damaged.
Replacement marking wheels can be purchased from Axminster power tools in the UK and many outlets in the US and Canada.
