Frame Scriber

Overview of the Frame Scriber
The frame scriber fits on the Makita DR52 trim router.
It speeds up the process of fitting joinery into a frame. Particulary helpful for fitting full length heavy doors but it can be used for cabinet doors, windows and drawer fronts.
The frame router can be set up to create a gap from 1.5mm up to 6mm.
With hinged joinery you can fit the hinges first and hang the component leaving 3 sides to trim using the frame scriber (this makes it easier to keep the component positioned in the frame).
You can also temporarily hold the component in the frame and use the frame scriber on all 4 sides.
Using the Frame Scriber
The best cutter to use with the frame scriber is a sharp spiral fluted up cut cutter.
This cutter is designed to eject the chips up and out of the cut.
