Overview of the FB and SB Scribers

The FB and SB Scribers are the standard scribers in the range.

The FB Scriber is 64mm x 25.4mm, the SB Scriber is 64mm x 19mm.

They are great all round scribers for site fitting and workshop use when you only need to use a pencil.

As with all the scribers they are set up with the thumbscrew on the right hand side for right handers but you can take the pivoting bolt out and turn it 180 degrees for left handers.

Again as with all the scribers the tightening thumbscrew is spaced away from the body of the scriber to make it easier to grip. When tightened the scriber won’t move in use.

The FB Scriber has its own chapter dedicated to it in the “The Stick Chair Journal” written by Christopher Schwarz.

All the scribers in the tooley park scriber range (apart from the 2 in 1 FB Scriber)

come with the cradle pre drilled for the various accessories available. You can

also use the holes to fit your own base attachment giving you more options with the

scribers. Here an 18mm mdf block has been added to give the scriber more height.

Tooley Park Tools reviews

” Over the years I’ve tried/used various devices for scribing, expensive compass, cheap kids grade school compass, homemade scribers and two of the top-rated plastic scribers. All were frustrating and not accurate. I recently read an article in the April 2026 issue of Fine Wood Working about the Tooley Park Scribers. After doing some research and talking with Philip at Tooley Park I purchased a Tooley Park BB scriber. This scriber is truly the Cadillac of scribers. I took it all apart and examined all the parts and they are very well machined and fit together perfectly. The flat and square machined bottom of the cradle makes all the difference in the world, no wobbling or tipping at all. When it comes to tools, “Cheap ain’t Good and Good ain’t Cheap”, this scriber is definitely worth the money. My new Tooley Park scriber proudly sits on the shelf next to my Veritas, Lie Nielsen, and Stanley Bailey planes.
